I was able to duplicate the green sock without written directions. Just had a few yards of yarn left over.

These were not knitted by me but by my friend’s grandmother. They just needed to be seamed. I remember my friend saying that her grandmother struggled with these as she was aging, and I can see that in these socks. I remember my grandmother barely being able to do garter stitch near the end but still knitting comforted and occupied her. I am thinking more about aging and losing abilities in the midst of this pandemic and with my own mother dying. Now is the time for me to try challenging new things that I might not be able to do later. Therefore I am going to make a pair of these socks on my own to practice intarsia which I have done very little of and to try this very interesting construction.

I’m really enjoying making these little argyle socks. I finished one this morning. Duplicate stitching is done to make the white crosshatching.
