I didn’t post yesterday, but I did do quite a bit of work.

I finished sewing in all the ends on the indigo cotton sweater. Just needs to be blocked.

The next project is a funny story. When my daughters were babies (they are now nearly 33 and 31), my sister sent us a handknit baby sweater. The neck opening was too small to get over a baby’s head, so I asked her if she had more yarn. She did and she sent it, but the yarn and sweater did not get together for repairs until yesterday. I removed the neckband and button closures and reknit the ribbing with a larger needle. I just need to finish the button loops and sew on buttons. Another baby somewhere may get to wear this sweet little sweater yet.

As I pick through this bedroom full of projects, I’m trying to determine how to dispense with everything, not just set it aside. I decided I have to do something with this basket of fiber bits.

I decided to randomly card them all together into rolags to spin. I can use them as a singles or I could ply them with a gray wool singles or maybe even a silk. I love making these “kitchen sink” yarns. I think it may make a spectacular yarn.

Before I tackle these lovely rolags though, I have to finish spinning up the pink Brazilwood corriedale. It’s all carded now, just two batts left to spin and ply. It’s a good day for spinning, all Brigadoony out there…
